At NOOK we ONLY use water based paints and primers which is better for the environment and safer for our employees and customers than solvent based paints most commonly used on fitted furniture.
After sanding and cleaning our furniture receives two coats of a colour matched primer, giving a deep base coat. The first top coat is applied by hand normally in our paint shop and then gently rubbed down in preparation for the final hand brushed coats in your home.
Hand painting creates a soft and hand finished quality that can never be achieved from a sprayed systems and whilst it takes longer hand finishing has several benefits:
Covering small gaps between sections of furniture normally left un-filled
Easier to touch up if damaged
The ability to easily change the colour of your furniture at a later date
No harmful or potent chemicals or VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compound’s)
